Job Summary

Hammerhead is tech startup, building the software platform for the sport of cycling. At present we are focused on producing the Karoo, the world’s best bicycle computer. We are a team of athletes, creators, and doers who get to spend our time building the finest product in our category, for the sport we love. The Hammerhead Karoo shipped in March of 2018 and is used by thousands of customers in 32 countries worldwide. We know that we can hit some large growth goals for 2019 and are now seeking a Director of Growth to help us seize the immense opportunity before us.

This is an exciting time to come aboard, build a team, and help to substantially grow the business. This role requires cycling industry knowledge, as well as extensive marketing experience in direct to consumer products. This person will be instrumental in helping us scale our direct to consumer marketing initiatives in the US, Europe, and beyond. They will be working primarily across paid digital acquisition channels, with a substantial budget available to drive revenue. They will be responsible for owning the strategy, building the sales infrastructure, analyzing the data, and growing an outstanding team. 



The Director of Growth will:

Scale and grow Hammerhead’s direct-to-consumer eCommerce sales

  • Design and oversee eCommerce and advertising strategy for the Karoo cycling computer. 

Build advertising infrastructure

  • Utilize Facebook, paid search, display retargeting, YouTube, influencer, ambassador, affiliate, email and other forms of marketing.

Design and manage advertising campaigns across multiple platforms

  • Create marketing initiatives that stay on brand and are relevant to users.

Analyze and report sales data 

  • Develop quarterly and yearly reports that effectively communicate current state of sales  performance.
  • Experiment constantly to identify and refine acquisition channels and optimize conversion funnels.
  • Drive budget allocation between channels and lead the campaign specific strategy to optimize for conversion and CAC.

Manage and grow a team

  • Recruit and hire additional positions as needed to build a world-class sales team.
